The World Future Forum will take place from 4 to 5 November 2024 in Lisbon and its innovative surroundings. The Forum is organized by the Allied4Future Foundation, in collaboration with Taguspark - Knowledge City, the Portuguese Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Lisbon City Council, and Delft University of Technology.
On 4 November, the Forum will kick off with a Welcome Reception at the Ministry of Environment and Energy in Lisbon, followed by a visit to the Unicorn Factory Lisboa, a hub for innovative startups supported by the Lisbon City Council. The main conference will be held on 5 November at Taguspark - Knowledge City, located in Oeiras, close to the Lisbon airport.
The Forum will bring together leaders in sustainable finance and impact investing, game-changing technology developers, scientists, investors, policymakers, and representatives from business, government, civil society, and academia.
Together, we will imagine and explore a future where technology not only drives prosperity but also restores and protects our planet. Where investments aren’t just profitable but purposeful.
In an era of profound technological advancements across industries, societies, and global power structures, the stakes have never been higher. Transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence, space technologies, and quantum computing are not only driving competitiveness but also reshaping global influence and international relations. The World Future Forum will explore how these game-changing technologies are leading the charge in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges, including climate change and the quest for a net-zero economy.
Achieving a sustainable future also requires a profound transformation of the global financial system. Bridging the climate finance gap is not about finding new capital but reallocating existing resources to projects that align with climate goals and net-zero objectives. At the World Future Forum, we will explore how sustainable finance and impact investing can be catalysts for this shift. Guided by the Allied4Future Sustainable Finance Goals (SFGs), this discussion will focus on strategies to redirect capital from environmentally harmful investments toward climate-positive technologies. We will examine the role of innovative financial instruments, regulatory frameworks, and public-private partnerships in accelerating the flow of capital into projects that restore ecosystems, mitigate climate change, and drive the transition to a climate-neutral economy. Together, we will reflect on the potential of finance to build a world where profitability and sustainability go hand in hand.
Driven by the Allied4Future Sustainable Finance Goals and powered by the Tech4Good Global Technology Collaboration Labs, we will explore how these powerful technologies and strategic financial investments can accelerate the transition to a next-generation sustainable world. The Forum is more than a stage for debate—it is a catalyst for action. Through forward-looking discussions and real-world collaborations, we will showcase opportunities where innovation and finance intersect to shape a prosperous, ethical, and sustainable future.
This event serves as a dynamic platform, uniting academics, tech entrepreneurs, policymakers, and impact investors to foster global collaboration for a sustainable future.
Over the coming year, the A4F Foundation will focus on advancing these key topics, organizing Global Technology Collaboration Labs, further developing the Sustainable Finance Goals (SFGs) Framework and Mechanisms, and preparing for the SFGs Awards 2025.
The annual World Future Forum will also take stock of the work of the Technology Collaboration Labs, highlighting their progress in fostering interdisciplinary innovation by integrating AI, Quantum, Space, Clean Tech and more to drive holistic technological advancements through cross-sector collaboration.
